Starting 2023 the way we think every year should start: with community, with hard work, and with a little tribute to someone who was part of ours.

Today we're running "Jackie" — a classic CrossFit benchmark — alongside a commemorative variation in honor of a member who meant something to this gym and to this community.

The Workout

Jackie is a classic benchmark: 1000m Row, 50 Thrusters (45 lbs), 30 Pull-ups, for time. It's a test of stamina, grip, and threshold pacing. If you've done it before, you know. If you haven't, you're about to understand why benchmarks stick around.

We'll also be running a scaled version accessible to all fitness levels.

What This Day Is About

Every community that trains hard together long enough accumulates stories — of hard workouts, of people who showed up when showing up wasn't easy, of moments that only make sense to the people who were there. Today's WOD is about honoring one of those stories.
