November Member Of The Month – TJ Valerio

By CrossFit Conshohocken

Every month, we recognize a member who embodies what CrossFit Conshohocken is about. Not the most advanced athlete. Not the person with the most impressive numbers. The one who shows up, does the work, and makes the gym better just by being in it.

November's member of the month is TJ Valerio.

About TJ

TJ started at CrossFit Conshohocken with a simple goal: get stronger. He came in with zero barbell experience and, by his own admission, more than a little skepticism about whether CrossFit was going to stick.

It stuck. TJ has been a consistent 3–4x per week member for over a year now, rarely misses a session, and has become one of those members who brings energy to the room just by walking through the door.

The Progress

In his first year, TJ added significant weight to every barbell movement. His squat, deadlift, and press all hit numbers he would have laughed at if you'd predicted them a year ago. More importantly, he moves better — mechanics improved, confidence improved, and the results outside the gym followed.

What Makes TJ Stand Out

It's not the numbers. It's the attitude. TJ encourages other members, especially newer athletes, in a way that's genuine and not condescending. He pushes himself hard and never complains. On days when the WOD is brutal, he's usually the one making people laugh.

That kind of presence is what builds a community. It's contagious and it's irreplaceable.

From TJ

"I didn't know what I was doing when I started. I just knew the regular gym wasn't working for me anymore. The coaches here made it easy to show up, and now showing up is just part of my week. The results kind of sneak up on you."

Congratulations, TJ. See you in class.
