Today for strength, one set consists of 10 lifts: push press + jerk + push press + jerk + push press + jerk + push press + jerk + push press + jerk. The idea is to stay at a moderate weight and practice the jerk under fatigue. You should do whatever jerk you would do for a Clean and Jerk (split or power).

folks, two things:
1. it would be helpful for you to score yourself for each day’s of eating – remember, 2 points for full compliance, 1 point for a small cheat, and 0 points for “smoking a sausage (McMuffin)” as Vinny put it. We will still look at your journals, but it can speed up the grading process.
2. Instead of collecting journals just once at the end, we’ll collect them halfway through. Bring in copies or the actual journals on Monday, Feb. 2nd so we can give you a “midterm” grade. This is to help you remember to actually keep a journal, allows us to see if you need to tweak anything, and again, helps speed up the grading at the end.
