Each year for Memorial Day we host an Event at CrossFit Thermal called “Murph”.  Murph is a Hero workout, performed in the honor of Lt. Michael P Murphy, who was killed in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan in 2005.  Since we opened in 2013, we’ve hosted this workout unofficially to honor his sacrifice and the sacrifices of all service men and women killed in combat.  In addition it’s been a great event for our community bringing us all together in the spirit of Memorial Day for a great cause and a great workout.  This year, we’re getting ready early and plan to do even more for this amazing cause! The official partner of “The Murph Challenge” – “Forged” has created a website for the event and an accompanying charity.  Over the last three years, Forged® has raised nearly $800,000 for the LT. As a kid being outside and playing sports was always important to Eric. Golf & Basketball were always the sports he loved the most. When he is not playing golf you can always find him watching sports on TV. He takes great pride in being a 76ers fan, going to games and screaming at the top of his lungs when they screw up. Weight training was never important to Eric because he was never exposed to it during high school and college years. CrossFit Thermal is happy to announce the 2018 Spring Nutrition Challenge.  This challenge will be our biggest and best challenge yet.  Again this season we’ll be utilizing a structured system of accountability to ensure the success of all participants.  Additionally this challenge will be a lot of fun!  We’ll be doing weekly prizes and check ins to keep everyone engaged and attentive to their goals and the to challenge in general.  We invite everyone to join in and get ready for summer, and more importantly learn to create a lifelong sustainable relationship with food. Two weeks ago we sent out a quick 4 question survey for members to complete.  Its great to get this kind of feedback once in a while and I’d like to thank everyone who completed it. First – we wanted to know what you wanted to work in terms of training.  Of course, we are a CrossFit Gym, a pure CrossFit, A CrossFit that is run by an OG, all of that stuff will stay the same.   We’re not adding a boot-camp class, or eliminating barbells or anything crazy like that.
